• Children’s – Mookology compares Brian Selznick’s The Invention of Hugo Cabaret with Martin Sorcese’s recent film adaptation, Hugo. My thoughts? Hugo was definitely a movie to be seen in theatres, in 3D. Beautiful!

• Celebrity  – For the celebrity obsessed (like myself), here’s a slightly outdated list of celebrity bios you should read. For inside information and gossip on what actually happens in the Hollywood machine.

• Non-Fiction  – I just visited the Kennedy Space Center on vacation and when I left…all I could think about were Russian astronauts. Their space program was bigger and better, yet so little has been written about it (that I could turn up). Anyways, Russia’s Cosmonauts: Inside the Yuri Gargain Training Center is first on my non-American space reading list. 

• Psychology – CommanderStrike reviews Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can’t Stop Talking over on Cannonball. If you don’t understand the difference between an introvert and an extrovert (and no, it’s not a shy person and an outgoing person), you probably should.

• Historical – The Scruffy Rube reviews Erik Larson’s Devil in the White City , with an eye towards teaching it to students.
• Young Adult – And in a major throwback to my youth, HelloGiggle’s presents Lies The Baby Sitter’s Club told me. All so true.

• Romance – Check out The Unread Reader’s awesome “My Book Boyfriend Series.”  DO IT. You won’t be sorry. This week she features Dr. Manuel Manello of J.R. Ward’s Lover Unleashed. 

• Classics – Everyone’s freaking out about 50 Shades of Grey, but That’s What She Reads is dishing one of the  original erotic romance novels – Lady Chatterly’s Lover by D.H. Lawrence.

• Supernatural/Thriller – In this week’s book to movie (to movie) review, The Readventurer reviews the American and Swedish versions of Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

• Young Adult – Books With Bite interviews Kiera Cass about her novel The Selection, which will likely be hitting television screens this fall on The CW.
